WHO webinar – treating patients with TB and MDR-TB from Ukraine

WHO is planning to organize a webinar for pulmonologists of Poland to update on the treatment of TB and MDR-TB in Ukraine and hold it on.

13 April 2022 from 14:30 – 15:30 (Warsaw time).

WHO is putting efforts and working with Ministries of Health on ensuring access to care and continuity of treatment for tuberculosis (TB) and drug-resistant TB (DR-TB) for refugees from Ukraine in European countries, including Poland.

Based on WHO estimates, out of 2,400,000 refugees in Poland there might be around 950 patients with TB who require treatment continuation, of which 350 with DR-TB who are already on treatment and will require its continuation with same treatment regimens as in Ukraine.

WHO is establishing a stock of medicines for MDR-TB in Poland to cover the needs for refugees from Ukraine.
